Cavendish Galleries was established in 1974 by Edward Bird, who remains as its senior director and appraiser. Initially the gallery catered to corporate collectors. Through the years, and with the addition of experts in a variety of genres and specialised areas, we expanded our focus to encompass the needs of all collectors of late 19th century and early 20th century works from the United States, Canada, Ireland, Britain and Europe. We are always happy to seek out works for our clients if we do not have them in stock. In addition, our senior researcher, Frances Edmund-Jones is always pleased to undertake research on our client's behalf, whether it be locating a specific work, or identifying a painting or a provenance. Also Louise Williams, our auction expert, will be pleased to bid on a client's behalf and provide advice about condition and/or authenticity of paintings. We are pleased to welcome Will Wile as our director of sales and marketing.All paintings are guaranteed to be as described.Works are signed and framed unless otherwise stated. The size shown is that of the painted surface. 'Condition' refers to the painting itself, not the frame, and reflects the best knowledge that we have.
